Nice netbook but anable to upgrade ram to 2gb

Review Date: March 10, 2010
Reviewer: Tad Y. Iwanuma, SAN DIEGO, CA, US
I bought this netbook for school purposes. I have 2 acer computers and have loved both of them. So I decided to buy another. After researching different resources (online stores I saw it could be upgraded to 2gb) I went with the a532-2974 Here is my issue with this netbook The ram is NOT upgradeable to 2gb of ram. I was on the phone with crucial for many hours. Have even tried to several brands of ram and none work. I have contacted acer support and they said this unit is NOT upgradeable. Chated with them, emailed them, and acer says no. So the moral of this story is IF YOU UPGRADE TO 2GB OF RAM DONT GET THIS NETBOOK. Dont buy the upgraded ram package.

Now on the other hand the 532 is a good mobile netbook. it's small lightweight. The N450 processor is great for the battery life is a awesome 8 hours (i was using wi-fi) The 93% keyboard is great too.. I would recommend this to someone who uses basic computer uses, and does not want to upgrade past wimdows starter. (which I was but decided not to as a result of not being able to upgrade ram)
